Cal State East Bay's Kinesiology is a dynamic and interdisciplinary department that explores the science and art of sport, exercise, physical activity, and all forms of human movement and its relation to life-long wellness and performance. It brings together knowledge from anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, psychology, sociology, history, biochemistry, and philosophy, bridging the gap between the life and behavioral sciences, the humanities, and pedagogy and coaching. Through these disciplines, we gain a deeper understanding of how the body moves, functions, and achieves optimal performance and wellness through and in sport, exercise, physical activity, and all forms of human movement.

The Department of Public Health & Health Sciences at Cal State East Bayprepares students to address today’s most pressing health challenges through a focus on social justice, equity, and community impact. Our programs equip future public health professionals to understand and address the social determinants of health, reduce disparities, and promote well-being across diverse populations. With an emphasis on identifying root causes of adverse health outcomes and developing strategies for systemic change, we empower graduates to become leaders and change agents who create healthier, more equitable communities.
