On behalf of the faculty, staff and administration of California State University, East Bay, we would like to congratulate our undergraduate and graduate students receiving a credential, bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree. The commencement ceremonies are designed especially for you and your family members to join in the celebration of this momentous event in your lives. We are sure you are all very proud of your accomplishments, and we at the University are proud of you as well.

May 2021 Commencement Ceremonies

May 2021 in-person ceremonies are postponed indefinitely until State and local public health officials approve of large gatherings so all our attendees and graduates will be safe. The university is committed to honoring our Classes of 2020 and 2021 at a traditional in-person ceremony; and we will provide an update on a rescheduled date when we have more information.

Eligible Graduates

The commencement celebration will include all students who have filed for graduation for Fall 2020, Spring 2021 and Summer 2021.

The Class of 2020 will be included in the commencement celebration.

The celebration is contingent upon state and local health orders approving large gatherings.

  • CSUEB has won a HEED award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine for three straight years. The award honors universities that have shown exceptional commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.

  • The athletic program produced conference champion teams in women’s basketball, men’s golf and men’s baseball during the 2015-2016 school year.

  • Cal State East Bay offers 50 baccalaureate degrees, 61 minors, 35 master’s degrees, 34 credentials and certificates, and one doctoral degree.

  • Notable alumni include MLB Hall of Famer Joe Morgan, California Wellness Foundation President and CEO Judy Belk, Tony-winning actor James Iglehart and CSU Chancellor Timothy P. White.

  • The university’s Master’s of Science in Health Care Administration program was ranked No. 5 in the nation by healthcareadministrator.org in 2016.
