Parking

Commencement Parking Permit

The commencement ceremonies require a special commencement parking permit to park on campus. Each commencement ceremony will have their own unique special commencement parking permit that will only be valid on its designated date. Each graduate will receive three (3) parking permits. Graduates can obtain parking permits beginning at GradFest. After GradFest, parking permits will be available directly from the Parking & Transportation Services Department located in the Student and Faculty Support Building, SF140 from March 25, 2024 to May 3, 2024.

Vehicles with a DMV-issued Disabled Persons Parking Placard or license plate must also have a special commencement parking permit to park on campus.

Note: Graduates and guests should anticipate traffic delays, especially on Mission Boulevard. Please allow extra time for travel. You will need this special parking permit to park on campus during commencement. Normal parking permits will not work. Carpooling is strongly suggested.

Shuttle Services

The University will be running shuttle service to and from the Hayward BART station ONLY beginning at 7 a.m. and will continue to run until a few hours after the ceremony. Please note the BART station is the Hayward BART station, not the South Hayward BART station. The shuttles will run approximately every 30 - 40 minutes depending on traffic. Please plan accordingly if you plan on taking BART.
