Professional Learning for Leaders and Teachers
CRECE provides professional development for teachers and leaders throughout the region. We facilitate opportunities for learning and growth to actualize thoughtful, responsive, joyful, justice-focused education. These well-attended events create a forum for educational leaders, including faculty, students, alumni, and local educators to share their expertise, improve their skills, and expand their knowledge.
- Radical Educator Speaker Series (RESS): The Department of Educational Leadership’s speaker series brings regional and national experts to campus to discuss social justice-focused issues of education policy and practice with our students, faculty, alumni, and community members. Lead: Dr. Mari Gray. For more information, click here
- Science Communities of Practice Partnership (SCOPP): In partnership with six local districts and the Alameda County Office of Education, we are providing professional learning for 3rd-5th grade teachers focused on building literacy through science education. This research grant also champions equity by supporting districts in increasing time for student-centered science education. Funded by the National Science Foundation. PI: Dr. Kathryn Hayes.
