ENOUGH
Hate fueled by rhetoric,
Behaviors informed by willful ignorance
Insults hurled in fear
and murder caused by a complete lack of humanity
The weathering of this storm seems endless
The cause of this hate is nonsensical yet it continues
To those individuals in our community that identify as Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese, Hawaiian, Philippinx, Asian, East Asian and all who are “raced” to fit the hate-profile. We are holding you, your pain, your hurt. Your fear is seen and acknowledged. We, your East Bay, community are here in solidarity, in our advocacy, as your accomplices. We value YOU, We appreciate YOU. We are convicted beside you and behind you. Maya Angelou said:
She heard the names…
She said, But my description cannot
fit your tongue, for
I have a certain way of being in this world,
and I shall not, I shall not be moved.
Our commitment to you:
We WILL actively work against Anti-Asian hate as a community
We WILL disrupt it wherever we witness or hear it
We WILL make space for our community to care for the hurts and harms caused by the socio-political bombardment of pain
WE ARE HERE FOR YOU
WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED
