Advising Services

The College of Science Student Service Center provides academic advising and support for current undergraduate students pursuing one or more of the majors/ minors we serve. We highly encourage students to visit us early in their academic career and also connect with their designated faculty advisors.

We offer two types of advising sessions, scheduled appointments and drop-ins.


Appointments must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. 

Our advising team is here to support you remotely during these stressful and uncertain times. Please use your Horizon and email to schedule a major advising appointment.  Kindly write “Request for Major Advising” on the subject line and include your name, NET ID, major/concentration and phone number in your email. Appointments must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. 


For students who have previously met with on one of our advisors and would like to do a quick check-in. All drop-ins are on a first come, first served basis. No phone reservations or reserving for a friend is allowed.

Student Service Center Policies

Appointment Policy: If you are running late to your scheduled zoom appointment, please email the advisor you are meeting with as soon as possible.

Cancellations:  We understand that things come up that you may have to cancel your appointment.  Please email the advisor or as soon as possible.  Your appointment is important to us, we would like to reschedule your appointment for another day and time. Frequent cancellations or no-shows may have restrictions on scheduling future appointments.

Form Signatures: If dropping off a form to be signed (i.e. petition to exceed 18 units, letter of support), please allow 2 business days.

Major related documents: If you would like to pick up a copy of your major check sheet or education plan, please email the major advisor that you have previously met with.
