Priority #5: Earn greater respect from the region, state, and nation for our strong and equitable community engagement efforts, especially in sustainability and addressing societal needs

With this priority, we aim to achieve the following desired outcomes:

Deepen and expand community engagement by taking actions like…
…ensuring a true equitable partnership by inventorying current engagement efforts to
identify gaps and opportunities for improvement; assessing solutions like creating a
single centralized hub and access point for community engagement; and continuing the
development of a strong relationship with the Muwekma Ohlone tribal council and
community.

Build Cal State East Bay awareness and reputation by taking actions like…
…refining the Cal State East Bay brand to reflect current and unique strengths;
enhancing student recruitment marketing, including innovative digital efforts, to further
promote our attributes and reach a greater audience; and track and increase earned
and organic media coverage in print and digital outlets.

Launch a comprehensive fundraising campaign by taking actions like…
…conducting a feasibility study and creating a staffing plan to prepare for a successful
launch and completion of comprehensive campaign; developing effective campaign
branding consistent with new brand identity that resonates with our donor base; and
begin the silent phase by engaging top donors, volunteers, and other key stakeholders
and securing lead gifts.

Establish innovative public-private partnerships by taking actions like…
…exploring potential partnerships for providing faculty and staff housing; expanding
relationships with K-12 and community colleges to reinforce recruitment of exceptional
students; and strengthening connections with major employers seeking an educated
workforce through additional targeted recruitment opportunities.
