Applying to the Program

Applying for Fall Semester

MSA Program admits students once a year in Fall. Students can apply on Cal State Apply for the next Fall semester.

The application period for Fall is October 1 to June 1 on Cal State Apply. Students can complete the document submission after completing the application on Cal State Apply.

Applications will be reviewed on a first come, first served basis until spaces are filled. Applicants are encouraged to apply early. 

Only complete applications will be reviewed. Applications with missing documents will not be reviewed until the file is complete.

Foundation courses will be offered in the summer session prior to the start of the MSA graduate program in Fall. Students who need foundation courses will register for the foundation courses as a non-matriculated students through Open University.

Required Admission Documents

  1. Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  2. Official GMAT (or GRE) scores
  3. Official TOEFL or IELTS scores required for international students
  4. Personal statement (if not included on the application form)
  5. A resume 
  6. Recommendation letters are not required, but recommended

Application Process

  1. Submit an application for the MSA program through Cal State Apply with an application fee of $70. Fall application opens on 10/1 on Cal State Apply each year.  
  2. Send Official transcripts from every college and university attended.
    1. Official transcripts must be sent directly from the university or in a sealed envelope with the university stamp over the seal from every college attended or had classes.
    2. For US universities, to expedite processing, inquire your sending institution for information in regards to electronic transcript submission.
    3. Send the electronic Transcript to  
    4. Hard copy official transcripts, test scores, and admission documents in their original sealed envelope, may be mailed to:

    5. For students who attended universities outside the US, official transcripts from the universities are required. International Admissions Office (IAO) does not accept WES evaluation as official transcript. Wes evaluation will be used as an English translation. You can send WES evaluation to msaccountancy@csueastbay.eduor hard copy to Ms. Jan Howard whose address is provided below.
  3. If required, request official GMAT or GRE test scores to be sent to CSUEB directly,
    • GMAT - MSA program Code - TCV-K9-86
    • GRE - CSUEB code - 4011
  4. For international students, request official TOEFL or IELTS scores to be sent to CSUEB - Code 4011.
  5. Email the following documents directly to
    • A copy of all your transcripts. 
    • A copy of your GMAT (or GRE) report.
    • A copy of TOEFL or IELTS scores.
    • Statement of Purpose (SOP) 
      1. Include the SOP on the application form or  
      2. Email a separate SOP to  Make sure you include your name on the file and on your statement.
    • A resume showing business or other experience.
  6. Recommendation letters are optional, not required. Recommendation letters can be sent directly to the email address or send the hard copy of the recommendation letters to the following address.
