ESSCA (Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Commerciales d'Angers) is an unmistakably French yet resolutely European and international school of management, with campuses in Budapest, Hungary and Shanghai, China.

Cal State East Bay students may spend a semester (fall or spring) or summer studying Management and International Relations at one of ESSCA’s 3 locations (France, Hungary or China). Coursework in the semester and summer programs is taught in English and is primarily suited for CSUEB business students. International Studies students with some interest in International Business may also find the course options suitable.

Program Dates

  • Enrollment at Cal State East Bay for one quarter prior to departure
  • Cumulative G.P.A. of 2.7
  • Upper division standing (90 quarter units) by the time you study overseas
  • Completion of all required remedial courses prior to departure

Paris, France

ESSCA has new teaching space in Boulogne, a city in greater paris, along the Seine neat Pont su Saint-Cloud subwaystation. Students can spend a semester in Paris taking coursework taught in English and taking advantage of all that Apris has to offer. ESSCA offers and orientation prior to the start of each semester,a s well as a Practical Planning Guide.   

Angers, France

A beautiful green city, situated in the west of France; by high-speed train, it is just 90 minutes from Paris and 60 minutes from the spectacular beaches of the Atlantic coast. It is an historical city with the world’s oldest medieval tapestry and timbered houses, cobbled street and a unique 12th century fortress. 

With a population of 160,000 inhabitants and a total student population of 30,000, it is also a modern and lively city with a conference centre and many theatres, cinemas and bars.  

Shanghai, China

ESSCA offer specialized programs in Shanghai, China’s largest city to help you understand China and Asia better and apprehend the business opportunities this fascinating region offers.

All Courses are taught in English by local and international faculty members. The programs also include several company visits and various cultural activities.

Budapest, Hungary

With more than 2 million inhabitants and 10,000 companies, Hungary’s capital is influential throughout Central Europe, a region of significant economic growth. One of central Europe’s most beautiful cities, it is also the perfect location to discover others as it is just two hours from Vienna and Bratislava, four hours from Ljubljana and five hours from Prague.

But of course there is much to do and see in Budapest itself, with its outdoor cafes and underground bars, sports complexes, modern shopping centres, Turkish baths, numerous museums and its famous opera. ESSCA is situated in the heart of one of the liveliest parts of the city on the Pest side.
