About Us

The Credential Student Service Center (CSSC) provides services to all programs leading to a credential issued by the State of California. The CSSC is the direct link to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). The CSSC provides support to CSU East Bay departments with credential programs and serves the general public regarding information on certification policies and procedures.

The Credential Student Service Center (CSSC) provides a range of services to those pursuing credentials, including:

  • Advising prospective students regarding credential requirements in all programs;
  • Screening for credential program eligibility;
  • The housing of student records;
  • Monitoring of progress towards credential eligibility;
  • Verifying credential program completion;
  • Making the official credential recommendation to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).

To provide accurate and responsive credential information to students and the education community through personalized and efficient services.

Purpose

The purpose of the Credential Student Service Center (CSSC) is to provide client-centered, centralized service, and credential advising. The CSSC serves as a resource center for departments offering credential programs. It provides student access to accurate information on admissions and credential requirements, assists faculty and departments in advisement, and monitors student progress. CSSC generates reports and responds to both internal and external requests for data.

All CSU East Bay credential programs are accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
