Funding for Recognized Student Organizations (RSO's)

ASI partners with Student Leadership & Involvement Center (SLIC) to support RSOs through funding (formally called “club funding”). There are policies in place to ensure that the application process is as efficient as possible for RSOs. To be eligible for funding, RSOs must be recognized and in good standing at Cal State East Bay. Should you have any questions regarding RSO status, please contact SLIC

 

APPLICATION DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR FUNDING FOR FALL 2026:

Thursday, November 12, 2026 by 5pm.

 

BEFORE SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION:

Please make sure that you have read all details of the specific policy in advance. Incomplete applications will not be accepted or reviewed. A few key highlights to ensure all requirements are met:

  • RSOs must be in good standing and recognized by Cal State East Bay.
  • Only RSO Presidents or Treasurers can submit the request form.
  • All event applications must be submitted a minimum of 30 days prior to the event.
  • You must have submitted your event for approval on Baysync prior to applying for ASI funding
  • All funding policies have specific eligibility requirements (please read in detail).
  • For RSO Event Funding & Cultural Graduation Funding, the following documents need to be submitted via email to: asifunding@csueastbay.edu
    • Fillable pdf request form
    • Excel Budget Sheet for Event (see sample below)
    • Event Flyer including ASI logo (see image below)
  • If funding is approved, please work with SLIC staff on the process for purchasing. ASI does not provide funding retroactively.
  • Within 10 days of the event, RSOs are required to submit an Event Summary Report to the ASI Vice President of Finance (details will be provided when notified of approved funding).

RSO Seed Funding Policy

Newly recognized RSOs are eligible to be awarded up to $300 of one-time seed funding. The award is managed by SLIC and ASI, once organizations receive notification of recognition (around Sept 30 and Jan 31 each year). Once approved, RSO leaders will receive a confirmation from ASI regarding the fund transfer into their AS club account. 

RSOs are required to submit a Seed Funding Summary Report to the ASI VP of Finance within 30 days of usage of the funds. If the funds provided are not used by May 1st of that academic year, ASI reserves the right to rescind the funds from the RSO.

RSOs are required to include the following ASI logo on their advertisements/flyers for events and any clothing items.

ADA COMPLIANCE:

All advertisements for Associated Student, Inc. funded programs must have the following statement:
