Center for Community Engagement The Center for Community Engagement supports community-engaged teaching, learning, and scholarship; build and promote community partnerships for curricular and co-curricular community engagement; host a service learning leadership program; and collaborate with other campus entities to support quality community engagement experiences for students and community partners.

The Center for Student Research (CSR) is committed to providing a rich out-of-class experience for its students by providing faculty mentored research and creative activity opportunities. These experiential learning activities provide a deeper learning experience for students and result in higher retention and graduation rates.

Community Service Scholarship Program

Each summer since 1993, continuing students volunteer with selected non-profit organizations gaining experience and earning a scholarship through the Community Service Scholarship Program (CSSP). Bay Area non-profits are solicited for summer internships, these are placed on Pioneer Jobs. Presently internships are 100 hours and scholarships are $1,000.

Student Leadership

Developing the qualities of a leader comes with experience, study, and practice. Student leaders at CSUEB have multiple opportunities to hone and develop their skills including participating as an officer in a club or organization, attending the annual Leadership Conference, and taking one or more leadership classes.

Study Abroad The study abroad opportunities allow CSUEB students to go overseas for one semester or an academic year and gain academic credit towards their degree at an affordable price. Students can study a variety of majors in a number of different countries. For example, you can study Multiculturalism in Denmark, International Business in Korea, History in Spain, or Biochemistry in Sweden, just to name a few possibilities. Study Abroad
