The 29th Annual Cal State East Bay Instrumental Music Festival took place on October 5, 2018.

Designed to provide an intensive one-day concert band experience, the IMF also allows students the opportunity to work with some of the outstanding CSUEB applied instrumental faculty. The Instrumental Music Festival, coordinated and conducted by Director of Bands Dr. Danielle Gaudry, will include a full day of rehearsals beginning at 8 a. m. and will culminate in an afternoon concert at 3 p. m., which will open with the CSUEB Wind Symphony.

Participation in the IMF is based on school band director nominations as well as instrumentation. Directors are asked to recommend their most talented and dedicated student musicians in order of priority to assist in the decision-making process. While every participating school will be guaranteed at least two participants, directors are encouraged to recommend more than two students. A fee of $25 will apply for each accepted student, due by Friday, September 28, 2018.

In past years, the IMF experience has proved to be incredibly motivating for students, particularly once they return to their band, sharing their excitement and what they have learned. We sincerely hope you will consider recommending students to participate in what will be a worthwhile experience for them.
