Laboratory Safety
It is recognized that academic and research laboratories have their own unique set of hazards. These may include combinations of chemical, physical, biological, and radiological hazards. Students and lab workers may be using novel materials and equipment in new ways and each person brings with them their own history of lab training and work experiences. Because of this, lab personnel should always perform a formal risk assessment when conducting a new experiment or using new equipment as well continually assessing risk in their laboratories.
