What's a piece of advice you would like to share with incoming CSUEB students? Entering a new community like CSUEB can be very challenging and overwhelming, but I suggest embracing this change. Growth is a beautiful experience! If you find that you are having a difficult time, take some time for yourself and reach out to people you trust for some support.

Sannah, Campus Collaborations Lead

What's your Major? Biological Science with a concentration in Microbiology and Biomedicine

Where do you call home? Defining where I call home has always been a difficult question to answer for me. I've concluded that rather than being a place, home is the people I love.

What are you most excited for this academic year? This academic year I am most excited to use the new study rooms at the Core.

What's a piece of advice you would like to share with incoming CSUEB students? Every single day is important. Make the best out of your time because it slips away without notice. Taking things day by day, week by week. I like to think of school as training; in each class, we train and train till one day, and all of that training adds up to greater strength in the subject, which is then tested for a grade. Also, reach out for help! Our school includes numerous helpful programs and resources on campus included in your tuition. I have learned that here at Cal State East Bay, there will always be people who wants to help you succeed.

What is one resource that you have used & loved? I love using the STEM Lab to support me when I need extra clarification in my science classes. Also, whenever a course I am taking isn't offered for tutoring at the STEM Lab, I check out the SCAA to see if they are providing it.

East Bay has a lot to offer, such as Academic Programs, Social Clubs, Greek life, the STEM Lab, PAC, SHCS, the CORE study rooms, and more. If you log into BaySync using your NetID you will be able to find these resources!

What is one resource that you have used & loved? The Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) is an amazing resource I have used several times. The SHCS has helped me keep my vaccinations up to date, it has provided me with appointments with the campus doctor, and more. As East Bay students, we have access to free check-ups with the doctor and other services since it has already been paid by one's tuition fees!
