Cal State East Bay students, meet your new favorite travel companion: the AC Transit EasyPass. Whether you're heading to campus, BART, downtown Oakland, or across the Bay, your EasyPass has you covered — and it's free for students! 

 

EasyPass is an unlimited-ride bus pass that lets you ride anywhere AC Transit operates, anytime the service is running. This personalized EasyPass Clipper card will have your name, photo and the school logo on it.

  • Students: All currently enrolled CSUEB students with a valid Bay Card automatically receive an EasyPass.

     

    Faculty/Staff: A limited number of faculty and staff with a Bay Card may also opt into the program for a subsidized annual fee of $85.56.  The current fee has been prorated down to $42.78 as of January 01, 2026.

    Note: This program is funded by parking citation revenue and is supported by the self-sustaining Parking Department. No student fees are used to fund EasyPass.

    • Pick up your EasyPass at the Parking & Alternative Transportation Services office, Student and Faculty Support building SF-140!  EasyPass can only be picked up by the card holder.
    • Once your Bay Card photo is approved, the EasyPass will be created and shipped within 7 business days  to the Parking office. Please wait for the email to pick it up.
    • Important: The EasyPass requires your photo. The photo used is from your Bay Card. If you do not have a Bay Card yet, you can apply here. 

  • The EasyPass is valid during the Academic Year: Fall through Summer of the next year. Keep in mind if you are a student, you need to be currently enrolled. If you are not enrolled, your card will be deactivated. 

    The first day to use it this year is Tuesday, August 19, 2025

Campus Connection — Line 60 

 

February 17th - 20th - Temporary service change from 6am-3pm daily.  During this time, AC Transit will only drop off and pick up at Lot P. Click here for Lot P schedule and Location.

 

Line 60 runs every 25 - 45 minutes between CSUEB and Downtown Hayward BART. (Schedule updated Feb 1st, more trips added!)

Leaving campus? Line up at the Annex stop:

  • Pick up & Drop off - ANNEX Stop - Stop ID #58777 - West Loop Rd & CSU East Bay Annex (Close to Health Center & Bookstore) 

Please note: At this time, if you are leaving campus, the only designated pick-up stop for the AC Transit line serving our campus is Stop #58777 – ANNEX. View the Stop Map HERE. 

While you may still board the bus at other campus stops (MUS, SF, RAW), all passengers will be required to exit the bus at the ANNEX stop. The driver will take a break there, and you’ll need to wait in line at ANNEX to re-board once service resumes.

 

Note: Reduced service on holidays and weekends .

AC Transit Observed Holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

 

 FYI: Line 60 bus trip departing at 8:00 am from the Hayward BART station toward campus, and the 4:05 p.m. trip departing CSUEB campus toward Hayward BART will carry Hayward High School students.

 

(If you are coming from Castro Valley BART station - either transfer at Bay Fair and get off at Hayward BART or take AC Transit Line 28 to Hayward BART)

  • Make the most of your EasyPass — and avoid any surprises on board: 

    • Tap your EasyPass every time you board an AC Transit bus. 
    • Your EasyPass is non-transferable — only you can use it. 
    • Friends or guests must pay their own fare using a separate Clipper card or payment. 
    • For travel beyond AC Transit (like BART, ferry, etc.), use a separate Clipper card loaded with funds. 
    • Register your EasyPass online ASAP on clippercard.com — it makes replacement much easier if your card is ever lost or stolen. 
    • See the FAQ for additional helpful information.
    • Misuse of your EasyPass may result in fines or suspension of privileges. Keep it safe. Keep it yours. 

  • Don’t just ride — ride smart. 

    •  Arrive 10–15 minutes early to your stop to ensure you catch the bus. 
    • Have your EasyPass out and ready to tap as the bus approaches. 
    •  Buses have a maximum capacity — if the bus is full, you’ll need to wait for the next one. 
    •  Mornings and afternoons can get crowded. If you're on a tight schedule, plan to catch an earlier bus just in case the one you want is full. 

    Tip: Use the AC Transit App to track real-time bus arrivals so you're never left guessing.
