Degrees and Certificates Offered
Students can choose between a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology or a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biology. Those students who wish to become professionial biologists (e.g., researcher at a tech company, animal biologist at the California Academy of Science, food scientist, forensic scientist), or to go into health careers (e.g., doctor, medical technologist, optometryist, pharmacist, clinical lab scientist), higher education (e.g., college/university faculty, university researcher), or to graduate school usually obtain a B.S. Those planning on using their Biology degree to pursue a career in pre-K, K-12 education or as a naturalist/science educator at a science center/aquarium/zoo) may be interested in the B.A. We also offer a minor in biology and Masters programs in Biology, as well as a Biotechnology Certificate program.
