Upcoming Deadlines shown below are outlined in the Master Curriculum Calendar. However, college deadlines are set earlier, so please check with your College Curriculum Coordinator for college-specific curriculum submission deadlines.

Sep 01

Academic Master Plan for New Degree Programs due

 

  • College Dean/Associate Dean submits to Senate Office for CAPR. (Must be approved by the CSU Board of Trustees prior to submitting a new degree proposal).


Sep 15

Deadline for Proposal Launch

  • (9 months in advance of effective catalog)

 

Deadline for College Committee Approval and received in APS by  Oct 15

  • (8 months in advance of effective catalog) Only proposals approved by the Academic Senate by March 1 will be included in the next effective catalog and class schedule
  • Courses:
    • All Course Proposals (New, revised, GEOC, Non-GEOC, Overlay, G.R., UWR, Bank, Unbank).
  • New Prefix requests.

Oct 01

Annual Program Reviews due

 

  • College Dean/Associate Dean submits to Senate Office for CAPR.


Oct 15

Deadline for Proposal Launch 

  • Program proposals

 

Deadline for College Committee Approval and received in APS by  Nov 15

  • 7 or 19 months in advance of effective catalog and must be approved by Academic Senate by the end of Spring Semester, in order to be included in the next effective catalog.
  • Due to Student Catalog Rights, revisions/discontinuances may only take effect in the Fall semester.


  • Programs:
    • Revisions - Existing Programs (Non-substantive changes. These may include but are not limited to: Any course changes within a program, including those that fit within program requirements, that do NOT impact total degree or concentration units.)
    • Revisions requiring campus and Chancellor's Office approvals-  Degree, Credential, or Certificate Program Proposals 

      • Revised degree or concentration title.
      • Revised degree total units. 
      • Revised offering format (self-support vs state). 
      • Delivery format (Hybrid, Fully Online, Online Degree Completion designation) of degree, concentration, or credential program.
      • All discontinued or temporarily suspended programs.
    • Creation of a Blended ("4+1") Program from existing bachelor's and master's degree programs. 

Nov 15

  •  7 months in advance of effective catalog and must be approved by campus, except for uncontested revisions of minors

    • New Degree Programs.
    • New concentrations within existing degree programs
    • New Credential, Certificate or Subject Matter Preparation programs.
    • Elevation of an existing concentration to a degree program.

Final long-term Program Reviews Due
