The largest advising group within APS is Academic Advising and Career Education (AACE). AACE is the home for the Academic Affairs advisors in the Frosh and Sophomore Success Team (FASST) and the Career Counselors, who not only help with career preparation, but can also assist students with choosing a major or minor based upon their interests and talents.

APS provides the primary advisor for Associates Degree for Transfer students

For students who are on academic probation or started as a frosh at CSUEB five or more years ago, the Pioneer Success Coaches provide advising services.

The Peer Academic Coaches provide assistance for students who are new to Cal State East Bay.

APS runs the Faculty Advising Fellows program that helps train faculty in the campus' largest undergraduate programs on advising methods and resources.
