Program

The Post-Masters Counseling Training Program aims to provide training, supervision, and professional development for registered MFT, ASW, and PCC associates. The position focuses on providing clinical and outreach services to registered CSUEB students.

Professional Activities

Associates provide individual, couples, and group therapy, and crisis assessment and intervention to registered Cal State East Bay students.  They also engage in outreach to the campus, such as workshops on mental health topics or tabling events. Campus outreach aims to increase the visibility of counseling services to the campus as a whole, especially in collaboration with high-touch departments.

Position Information

  • The position starts in August when our academic year begins.
  • Associates participate in weekly individual and group supervision and case consultation with licensed staff, as well as monthly professional development seminars.
  • Positions are three days a week, with Thursdays being a required day.
  • Position is nine months, August to May, with the possibility of summer work and/or returning for a second training year, pending positive evaluations.
  • Associates are paid for all hours worked, including supervision.

Position Requirements

Current registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an AMFT, APCC or ACSW. If registration is not yet complete, candidate should be in process to be registered by beginning of September. Candidates will also have a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or Social Work.
