Finding Images

Where can I find images for my site?

Finding images for your site is an important step for creating dynamic, interesting content, but we cannot simply use any image found on the web due to copyright and fair use restrictions.

The campus has an image repository on SmugMug of official campus images that can be used on any site located here:

https://csueastbay.smugmug.com/

If you would like access to additional images from the Sample Library, please contact Garvin Tso in the University Communications for the password.

There are also royalty-free sites that host high quality images that are searchable by topic/keyword.  These sites are ad-supported so please be careful not to go to a pay-for, non-royalty free site which are often advertised as banners on these sites.

Once you download images from above, please be sure to resize them correctly and then upload them into your files/images directory of your site.

Also, please be aware that taking or using your own photos with recognizable faces requires a model release form.  Garvin (email link above) can also help with that process.
